Shapero Rare Books cordially invite you to the launch of Oxford historian & author Professor James Pettifer’s latest book, Meet you in Atlantic City: Travels in Springsteen’s New Jersey.

In this remarkable narrative Professor Pettifer recounts his own philosophical journey as a visiting scholar at Princeton University, where Springsteen’s music becomes a metaphor for the nature of New Jersey society. Through the music of ‘The Boss’ the author explores the state’s frenetic energy and disturbing disparity in wealth and social conditions, from the glittering intellectual strata of Princeton to some of the most dangerous urban areas in the USA, only a short Turnpike drive away. Professor James Pettifer's latest book, Meet you in Atlantic City: Travels in Springsteen’s New Jersey.

The author will be available to sign copies of his book during the evening.

Due to the anticipated popularity of this event we do ask those wishing to attend to RSVP by Monday 29th October, either by emailing us directly on rsvp@shapero.com, or filling out the short form below.
