The author travelled the Yenisey as part of an expedition that set out to study tribes that lived along the banks. Her main interest was in natural history, particularly birds. The book is well illustrated.

First edition, 8vo, xii, 328 pp., 12 pages ads at end, frontispiece and 30 photographic illustrations, original pictorial green cloth gilt, publisher's file copy with label to upper cover, a very good copy.
