François Cellier was musical director and conductor of the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company. He was musical director for the original runs of nine Gilbert and Sullivan operas.
Second edition; large 8vo (228 x 153 mm); half-title, black and white photographic frontispiece portrait, 66 further plates (many two to a page), 6 facsimile letters, contemporary ownership inscription to front free endpaper, some foxing throughout; publisher's green cloth, spine and upper cover gilt lettered, gilt design to upper cover, top edge gilt, others uncut, extremities slightly rubbed, otherwise very bright.
