First edition. 8vo ( 16 x 12 cm), pp. x. 394, 8 maps including map of Ceylon in rear pocket, 12 plans, 102 illustrations, some pencilling inside on endpapers; publisher's red cloth gilt, worn and faded; overall a good solid copy.
