A narrow poster, which was likely hung on the streets of Mandate Palestine, notifying the people that 'the importation of sporting guns and of ammunition for the same is no longer prohibited'. Signed by Herbert Samuel, High Commissioner for Palestine.
The poster illustrates the effort of the British to install some order in Palestine at the beginning of their Mandate rule. Samuel was the first Jew to govern the historic Land of Israel in 2000 years; he officially recognised Hebrew as one of the three official languages of the land, and his appointment was warmly welcomed by the Zionist movement.
