Rare publication in English & French. This scarce volume was issued with the French text bound in at the rear. Athens was issued in five editions with several variants as an extract and a supplement. It was issued in rare card covers and sold in the city of Athens only by special agreement with the publisher and had an extremely limited distribution. Karl Wilberg was Karl Baedeker's nephew and he had been given special licence to publish and distribute this guide. This rare publication precedes English editions of Baedeker by eight years (1889). All editions are very rare.
