First edition, first impression, first issue (with 'you' for your on page 13, line 3); 8vo; frontispiece and 15 full-page illustrations by Sidney Paget; publisher's red cloth, decoration and titles to upper board in black and gold and to spine gilt, endpapers rather browned, spotting to fore edge and sporadically throughout, some minor bleed from the cloth to the edges of the endpapers, trivial loss to the top edge of one plate, a little light bubbling to the cloth on the lower board, spine mildly faded otherwise a very good copy.
