Scarce. The brothers Alexander and G. J. Gerard explored the Himalayan district from 1817 to 1828. Arriving in Simla in 1817, they travelled through Bashahl, Spiti, Garwhal, etc.

First edition. 8vo., xvi, 308, xxvi pp., 8 pages of ads at beginning dated March 1842, 2 pages ads at end dated August 1841, folding map in pocket at front, original brown blind-stamped cloth, spine darkened, repairs to extremities, a very good copy.
