This fine, clean copy contains numerous songs and verses about nature. From the myth of the birth of the rose from the love of Zephyr and Flora, to the admiration of a butterfly and a description of dusk, these verses, to be sung on traditional French melodies - including the national anthem Allons enfants de la Patrie - deal beautifully with the themes of seasons, times of the day, flora and fauna, illustrated by twelve fine engraved plates.

IN RED PAPER IMITATING MOROCCO, with gilt panel decoration, kept in matching slipcase.

Grand-Carteret, Les Almanachs français, 1476.
