Of the six vessels which set out in Anson's fleet, only three made it to the East coast of South America to harass the Spanish, two of having failed to round Cape Horn, and returning to England, whilst the Wager, subject of this work was wrecked off the coast of Chile.
First edition; 8vo, xx, 220 pp., old ownership inscriptions to title, light browning to text, modern half calf over marbled boards, red morocco lettering piece, a very good copy.
