Setting out in 1838, Joseph and Henry Bullar spent seven months in the Azores. They travelled to the islands of Sao Miguel, Faial, Pico, Sao Jorge, Flores, and Corvo. Includes much on the customs, religion, education, trade, and agriculture of the islanders.

First edition. 2 vols, 8vo, xiv, 375; ix, 390 pp, 2 hand-coloured frontispieces, text illustrations, small marginal stain outside text to pages 330-335 vol i, fine blue polished half calf gilt, spine in six compartments, morocco labels to second and third, others richly gilt, raised bands, marbled sides and edges, a very good example.
