Gao Bo (b. 1964) visited Tibet on several occasions between 1985 and 1995. Born in China, Tibet was one of the few countries he could freely visit. After moving to Paris in 1990, Bo joined Agence Vu and exhibited at Galerie Vu, before pursuing a career as an architect, establishing his architecture studio BoArchi in 2002. He closed the studio in 2009 and returned to photography.
First edition, number 441 of 600 copies, presentation copy; oblong 4to (249 x 328 mm, 9¾ x 13 in); black-and-white photographs; four-hole stab binding, cream covers with tan printed title-label, foxed, publisher's grey cloth-covered board folding case with tan printed title label, lined with tan printed sheets, near-fine; [70] pp (partially printed on double-leaves).
