One of 850 copies. 'George Meredith (1828-1909), a favourite novelist of F[rancis] M[eynell]'s parents, was also a poet and critic. He was a close friend of the Meynell family, and a great admirer of Alice Meynell (1847-1922) to whom he wrote sonnets' (McKitterick, p176).

Limited edition, number 621 of 780 copies for sale, from a total edition of 850; 8vo; title within red border, unmarked internally; original cream cloth-backed boards, gilt lettering to spine, spine slightly darkened, corners slightly rubbed, edges uncut, brown endpapers, overall a very good copy.
