[Green & Martin, London, 1840].
Captain Harris, an officer in the East India Company's Bombay Engineers, was invalided to the Cape for two years from 1835-1837. He set off on an extended hunting trip in 1836 travelling from Port Elizabeth north to the Limpopo. An account of the expedition was published in Bombay in 1838 and, encouraged by the generally favourable response (he was apparently accused of "lavish slaughter"), he published this work from sketches of the game met on the trip.
Original hand-coloured lithograph. In fine condition with colours remaining clean and bright. Dimensions: (sheet) 390 x 555mm. (15.5 x 22 inches).
