First edition of Kerouac's semi-autobiographical novel. Written almost directly after On the Road, although published much later, Desolation Angels draws directly from Kerouac's life experiences with counterculture royalty William Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, and Lucian Carr amongst others. A very good copy of a difficult book to find in good condition.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; unmarked internally; publisher's red cloth, gilt lettering to spine and upper cover, with the unclipped pictorial dustjacket, spine slightly toned, some rubbing and creasing to rear panel and extremities, else very good.
