Signed. A a near-fine, signed first edition of the fourth Harry Potter book by J.K. Rowling, recounting Harry's adventures during the Triwizard Tournament and featuring perhaps the most terrifying encounter with Lord Voldemort from all the series. This book was the first of the author's works to significantly increase in length, a trend carried on through the subsequent three Harry Potter titles, much to the delight of children and the horror of some bedtime-reading parents.

As noted by Houston in his letter, the book signing tour to promote Goblet of Fire was Rowling's largest and many of the signatures can appear a little rushed as in the present case. Nevertheless the signature bears all of Rowling's usual hallmarks from this period.

First edition, first impression, signed by the author on the dedication page, a letter of authenticity from Adam Houston (Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling signature specialist) loosely inserted; 8vo (207 x 126 mm, 8¼ x 5 in; the now usual slight age-toning but otherwise fine; publisher's pictorial boards, with corresponding dust-jacket, slight lifting of laminate to upper flap-fold, due to the age, otherwise near-fine and not price-clipped.
