A good example of a rare first edition to find in good order dust-jacket, this blessedly spared the fading to spine that plagues so many copies. The novel was the fourth by Berger, and won the Booker Prize that year. The author gifted half the Booker cash prize to the UK Black Panther Party, the rest he used to finance his studies on migrant workers that became A Seventh Man (1975), asserting that both endeavours represented aspects of his political struggle.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; publisher's boards, slightly bumped at upper fore-corners, red dust-jacket, unclipped and free of fading, small abrasion to upper panel, edge wear to top edge with slight loss to head of spine, small closed tear to foot of upper panel.
