An interesting association copy. An interesting association copy of the first American edition of Murphy by Samuel Beckett, with the contemporary gift inscription on the front free endpaper from the writer, night-club owner, Beat publishing editor and all-round far-out man Jay Landesman, to the poet Deborah Love who would later marry Peter Matthiessen.

First American trade edition; 8vo; gift inscription on front free endpaper; publisher's taupe cloth, dust-jacket with design by Roy Kuhlman, spine slightly darkened, rubbed and frayed with slight loss to ends, otherwise a good example.`
