First edition; 4to (28 x 22.5 cm); 23 engraved plates, 22 of which aquatints, 6 hand-coloured, 5 of which costume, armorial bookplate to front pastedown loose and foxed, a touch of spotting to prelims otherwise clean internally; contemporary full calf rebacked, boards gilt rolled with gilt armorial stamps, gilt spine in six compartments, two gilt lettering pieces, all edges gilt, hinges split but holding; iv, 322pp.
