One of Churchill's more important collections of essays. The foresight of these speeches, dating from 1928 - 1938, given by Winston Churchill, is quite astounding. In them he criticises the then current British foreign policy with warnings and exhortations, both prophetic and largely unheeded, going against the Munich Agreement and the British government, led by his predecessor, Neville Chamberlain.

First edition, first impression; 8vo (230 x 160 mm); frontispiece, prelims and terminal leaves browned, else unmarked internally; publisher's blue cloth, titles to spine gilt, cloth a little marked and faded, light spotting to edges, spine slightly faded, else very good.
